Through an internet search of online training for small businesses, we found many websites that offer valuable information in the fields of marketing and finance. However, finding an actual course offered at a non-university website proved more difficult. There are many websites that offer university classes while significantly fewer independent websites offer training in finance and marketing. Of the independent sites that were found, all offered some type of course or webinar that dealt with the subject matter of marketing or finance. When conducting separate searches for finance and marketing, many of the same websites offered courses for both. These sites were business related with the purpose of educating entrepreneurs interested in starting a business or improving one they already started. There are significant informative resource websites, although the information was typically in article form or mailed materials.

Pay per click (PPC) is an internet based advertising channel which is increasingly used on websites, search engines and advertising networks. Keywords typed in by the customer activate those sponsored links. They appear either next to, or above the natural search results on the page. The cost for the ad occurs only when the user clicks on the links and is lead to the advertiser’s page. Prices per click vary depending on the popularity of the used website and the position and order of the advertisement.
